Hickory is a native hardwood with characteristics that make it extremely suitable for rugged shoe shine kits. In nature Hickory trees grow to approximately 100 ft with the crown spreading out the same width, they populate the United States from northern New Hampshire, south to Florida and then west to Minnesota and eastern Texas. Hickory is used for baseball bats, gymnastics bars, tool handles, custom furniture and other products that require a resilient, tough, hardwood.
